Buying Into Metal Studs

Metal stud, nail and grommet embellishments have been hanging around for a few seasons, and they're not going away any time soon. It's a great way to play with the military look or to toughen up a sugary sweet outfit. If you'd like a little medieval warrior detail in your closet, here's some of what's available in stores right now.
First row: brown velvet blazer, Nolita, Yoox $119
light yellow babydoll top, Rampage $39
burgundy empire waist top, Development, Net-a-Porter $171
Second row: orange flats, Charlotte Ronson, Shopbop $125
green patent purse, Nine West, Macy's $74.25
bangles, Alexis Bittar, Nordstrom $165
red ballet flat, Kenneth Cole, Endless $87.89
Third row: black dress, Madison Marcus, Shopbop $162.50
blue drop waist tunic, Forever 21, $37.80
gold ring, 80's Purple $188

I am decidedly smitten with the stud/grommet/military detail trend. I gravitate less towards the punk rock pyramid shapes and more towards the rockstar/military ones, however. I like the ones of that style that you show here!

I'm also rather smitten. Some of my looks can be too sugary sweet, and details like studs keep me from looking like an 80s yacht club member.
