New York Fashion Week FW08 Part 1

It's fashion week again so it's time to look at all the new, pretty things. Here are some highlights from a few shows so far.

ThreeAsFour

Metallic fabric with interesting construction and pops of color created a sleek collection.

BCBG Max Azria

I almost always love BCBG. FW08's collection of fun yet elegant clothing was no exception.

Charles Nolan

This romantic and historially inspired collection is full of girly yet sophisticated extravagance.

DKNY

Bright colors, short dresses, and eclectic styles made DKNY a fun show.

Diane Von Furstenburg

DvF's "foreign affair" themed show brought us a lesson in layering--just cinch the waist to keep lovely layers from being bulky.

Erin Featherson

The girly frocks were fun at Fetherson, but some pieces lacked the sophistication I've been seeing for fall. Still her colors, styles and frocks should please fans.

I love how sophisticated so many of these looks are- and how easy a few of them could be pulled off! I'm especially glad to see belted waists are still hanging around, because I love the look but still haven't quite gotten it to look right with my tiny waist to epic-sized hips ratio.

I'm glad belted waists (and tights!) are hanging around too.

I was happy to see the belts and tights too. It looks like there will also still be a lot of popping colors next fall, which makes me happy.
