FMF Talks Emmys 2009

Asymmetrical necklines were a big trend on the Emmy red carpet. I gather one shouldered dress will be around for awhile.
Christina Applegate, Chloe Sevigny in polkadots, ageless Sigourney Weaver
Lindsay Price (in a J. Mendel gown I thought about for Tina Fey), Dexter's Jennifer Carpenter, perpetual cheerleader Hayden Panettiere

Mila Kunis' dark ballerina dress was striking. It's sweet without being childish, and it's just plain pretty. Love the color! Kudos to her for getting the length right. Too often women wear such dresses just a little too short and it stumpifies them.Julie Benz, who will always be Darla or Rita to me, wore another dress I loved. It's a glizty cocktail number covered in strands of crystals. Talk about your modern flapper!

Yay for my husband calling Blake Lively's backless, cut to here and cut to there dress "a bit desperate."
When a celebrity is pregnant for a red carpet event, she'll frequently don a draped and pleated dress that hangs off her belly. Generally, this is fine, but three cheers for Heidi Klum proudly showing off the entirety of her baby bump.
Our vote for most daring dress of the night goes to January Jones, who rocked a studded and striped bodice and train. Draper who?Who wore your favorite dress? Who missed the mark? Did you spot a red carpet trend?

Olivia Wilde was my favorite of the night. I also liked how glowing Jennifer Love Hewitt looked, and fell in love with Alyson Hanigan and January Jones's dresses. Kristin Chenoweth's dress was cute and fun as well. Normally I dislike so much skin being shown, but I actually think Blake Lively wore her dress well.

I wasn't sure what to think of Olivia Wilde's dress until I saw the back. The floating nude zipper made it a firm no for me.
