Love or Loathe: Sad Sack

Seeing as my brown jersey dress is a fall staple, I went looking for one as pick of the week. Sorry, they all seem to be overly elaborate or not work-friendly. Then there's this dress that can only serve as a bottom layer. (Since it's from Nordstrom not Barney's it can't even be hyped as minimalism and worn alone.) It would certainly be nice and warm when the weather turns nasty, but I just can't get over how terrible it looks on the model. Her waist has entirely disappeared! Should I just deal or do you also find it en-biggening?

Definately em-biggening!!! A sad sack indeed AND if it makes the model look big...well...
The dress is probably very comfortable but it is not very fashionable. It doesn't look good on the model.

I keep wondering if that's what it looks like new, how will it look after 10 washes?

I think I owned this dress when I was 8.

It was bright orange, and had a jack-o-latern face on it.

I think it looks ill-fitting on the model because it's too tight across the boobal area.

I'd buy this dress if the price was right.

When in doubt, don't.

Jael, I'm always impressed by how you can make things work. I don't think it's a talent of mine, however. Having two young children means that I have to keep things simple, and the idea of clothing that needs to be adjusted somehow to be wearable would drive me nuts.

Could this dress be fixed by belting? Maybe. Maybe not. But there are plenty of others that are fine as they are.

Definitely not flattering
I have a dress like that. I bought it for five euros at a sidewalk sale. I call it my "work at home mumu."

A wide belt, probably under the bust, would fix that. Surprising they didn't show it styled at all....
