Three Royal Blue Dresses
For the holidays most people default to red and green Christmas sweaters and dresses. Or they choose any color with a lot of sparkle (come back next week for lost of sequins!) to get some basic through the holiday season. Why not take a page from Kate Middleton's fairy tale, and try a royal blue dress like she wore to announce her engagement to Prince William? The color is regal so it's sure to look special for all your holiday parties. Plus, it's isn't too Christmas-y or sparkly to reuse for non-holiday occassions. Here are three royal blue dresses for three price ranges:
Under $50
This Simply Vera Vera Wang dress from Kohl's (on sale for $38.99) is a simple little frock in a vivid blue that will catch eyes at any holiday party. After the holidays, tuck it under a blazer with some dark tights and outdo everyone office.
Under $100
This Multi Way Dress from Victoria's Secret (on sale for $79) is more than worth the money. I can be worn several ways including strapless, deep v neck and one shoulder (pictured). It also comes in a couple more vivid blues if this color isn't quite for you.
Splurge
This Calvin Kline dress ($148, Nordstrom) hits all the right notes for a fairy tale holiday dress with it's shimmer, flattering cut and classic design.
Bonus
If you're hoping to copy Kate Middleton's royal engagement look, try this Network Dress from Anthropologie ($138). It's a slightly darker blue and only has three-quarter length sleeves, but of all the dresses I found, this one comes the closest to matching the future princess' stunning royal blue dress.
