Noveling Hangover
November is National Novel Writing Month (or NaNoWriMo). The challenge is to write a 50,000 word novel in one month. This year, I did it! I didn't quite finish the actual story, but I wrote 50,000 words of a story in 30 days. My brain hurts. I think I wore it out. As a result, all my attempts at a shopping post for this week have simply resulted in finding a random assortment of things I like. I hope you like them too.
1. Bow Hat, Target, $19.99
I have a hard time pulling off hats, but I really want a classic, sharp hat to pair with my trench coat so I can pretend I'm Sherlock Holmes, His Girl Friday or just a very mysterious person in a hat and trench coat.
.
2. Bow & Button Tights, Plasticland, $17
These tights have a bow, a stripe and buttons/dots. If that isn't enough of a reason to like something, I don't know what is.
.
3. Emeraldine Oxford Heels, Anthropologie, $148
I have a weakness for green shoes. (I have a weakness for shoes, period). I also have a weakness of oxfords. I even have a weekness for suede. Add to that the fact that Emerald is my birthstone, and we have the perfect pair of shoes. Excuse while I drool.
.
4. Wide Calf Suede Boots, Naturalizer, $119.99
Remember the weaknesses for shoes and suede I just mentioned? I know light grey suede boots have no business trotting around in the sludge of Michigan winter, but that doesn't make me want them less.
.
5. Velveteen Dream Dress, Modcloth, $127.99
I want to go to a fabulous 1950s party where everyone has matching shoes and handbags and all the men are wearing suits. I want to drink cocktails and dance to a big band. I want to wear my hair in one of those styles that doesn't look possible. I want to wear this dress while doing all of that. (Also, the name makes me think of the Velveteen Rabbit--one of my favorite childhood stories).
.
6. Wool Flare Coat, Victoria's Secret, $128
I'm a fan of skirts and dress, which makes me a fan of any coat that will let my skirts flounce and flutter. The cool military buttons don't hurt either.
