New York Fashion Week SS13: Anna Sui, Jason Wu, Marc Jacobs
Anna Sui dabbled in steampunk with a mix of rock and roll and Victorian themes. She hit many themes and trends for the season like varied prints--animal, graphic, floral and prints that look like they came from upholstery or wallpaper. The collection also offered up a dose of whimsy with technicolor hair, girly frocks and cat-ear caps.
Jason Wu has left his diplomatic First Lady clothes in the closet and dragged our a new leather and lace persona. With excellent tailoring and the classy touch Wu brought to Michelle Obama's wardrobe, most of this came out sexy and chic rather than 50 Shades of Grey.
Marc Jacobs put on an industrial circus. The stark black and white prints and strong stripe theme gave the collection a cool, edgy vibe while the ruffled cuff and collars (and the Mickey Mouse shirt) brought playfulness and daring to the collection.
