New York Fashion Week SS13: Vera Wang, J. Mendel, Suno, Ruffian
Vera Wang has a tendency to over do her layers and ideas, but this year
she turned in one of her prettiest collections ever. She still played
with layers and shape, but in a sleeker way. She brought interest to the
white portion of the collection with laces and textures. Then she
punched up the interest with colorful prints and shining metallics.
J. Mendel is known for pretty dresses, but he took this collection far beyond that with vivid colors, new shapes, more separates and swirly prints. Many pieces are sure to appeal to his regular clientele while establishing a new, more varied costumers.
Suno played with prints and layers for spring. They also ventured into evening wear for the first time. Their remixed shirt dresses, irridescent fabrics, and vibrant prints made for an interesting collection full of signature pieces.
Ruffian packed in the trends for playful collection with a mix of ladylike and sporty, home decor-inspired prints, vibrant pastels, stripes, and ruffles.
